Degel Israel has been an orthodox shul in Lancaster for over one hundred years. We are part of a larger Lancaster Jewish Community which has two other synagogues, a Mikvah, A Jewish Day School, a Jewish Community Center, and a Jewish Family Service. Our congregation has over one hundred families. We are known for our warmth and hospitality. We are a community where everyone counts and is counted on. Our desire is for our kehilla to grow and prosper. The Ilse and Eric Nussbaum Community Mikvah and redesigned mechitzah has enhanced our community as well as attracted new members. An established car pool takes our children to the finest yeshivot and schools in Baltimore. Would you like to join our haimesha group? We are looking to build our kehilla one family at a time. Already in place are stipends to cover moving expenses and help with employment. If you are interested in kiruv and the prospect of helping to build a community than Lancaster, PA may be for you. |
